Important Advisory for All Authors

The South India Journal of Social Sciences (SIJSS) issues the following announcement for the attention of all current and prospective authors.

Due to an exceptionally high volume of submissions, SIJSS is operating with an extended publication queue. Authors are advised that the process from submission to publication may take few months. Those with strict institutional, academic, or professional deadlines should carefully consider these timelines before submitting manuscripts, as requests for expedited processing or preferential consideration cannot be accommodated and will not be entertained.

To address the concerns of authors and improve the timely dissemination of research, SIJSS has progressively increased its publication frequency — moving from biannual, to quarterly, and now to a bimonthly schedule. Despite this increase, the number of articles per issue remains limited to 30, selected on the basis of quality, originality, and relevance following a rigorous peer-review and editorial process. No priority is granted based on individual circumstances; all manuscripts are processed strictly in accordance with editorial policy and scholarly merit.

Authors are advised to consult the FAQ and Official Announcements available on the Journal’s website before contacting the Editorial Office, as SIJSS does not have dedicated staff to respond to all queries.

We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and continued support in maintaining the high academic standards of SIJSS.
