Abstract

This paper aims to explore the Praja Parshad movement in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on the voices of the people involved and affected by the movement. The Praja Parshad movement, which emerged in 1949, represented the aspirations and concerns of the specific section of the society in Jammu and Kashmir State. By examining historical records, primary sources, and scholarly analysis, this study sheds light on the origin, objectives, mobilization, and impact of the movement. By giving voice to the people who participated in or were influenced by the Praja Parshad movement, this research offers valuable insights into the socio-political context of Jammu and Kashmir during that time and the lasting significance of the movement in shaping the region’s history.
