Abstract

Historical Background: In the past, there have been difficulties for the tourism of the Kashmir Valley as times of conflict and instability have affected the number of visitors. But it was anticipated that the repeal of Article 370 would result in better things, such as more stability, easier access to markets, and improved laws that support the growth of the tourism industry. Aim: The study attempts to examine the impact on tourism in Kashmir following the completion of more than a four-year Article 370 withdrawal period. Sources of Data: Both primary and secondary data were used. As primary data, qualitative and quantitative data were collected from 148 respondents who visited Phalgam and Gulmarg in Kashmir as the most famous tourist places, selected by using simple random sampling. Research Tool: The data was collected by using a self-structured interview schedule and group discussion as research tools. Statics techniques: Simple frequency and K. Mean cluster analyses were used to analyse the data and give a clear picture of the present status of tourism in Kashmir. Result: The results indicate that, overall, the removal of Article 370 has improved Kashmir's tourism industry, with gains seen in a number of areas, including infrastructure, security, and economic opportunities. Conclusion: Even with these encouraging advancements, problems like persistent political unrest and environmental issues still exist. These elements highlight the necessity of persistent efforts to resolve underlying problems and fulfil the potential of more tourists in the area.
