Abstract

From "Roti and Beti" to Strategic Partnerships: India-Nepal relations have historically been characterized by deep-rooted cultural, economic, and strategic ties. However, these relations face significant challenges, including border disputes, economic disparities, political instability, and external influences, particularly from China. This paper aims to examine the complexities of India-Nepal relations, focusing on key issues such as border conflicts, trade relations, water sharing, and the influence of external powers. It also examines prospects for future cooperation through strengthened bilateral dialogues and regional connectivity. The study concludes by suggesting strategic measures to enhance bilateral relations despite the challenges posed by historical tensions and geopolitical dynamics.
